The Story of Citizenship:
A performance and workshop to promote global citizenship.
When starting out on the Storytelling Trail I discovered that the same tales exist all over the world. This has led to some dispute as to their origins between Storytellers as you can imagine.
This let me to realise that the tales display "morals" common to all citizens world-wide no matter what their culture or religion and that they provide a solid base for mutual understanding and collaboration.
I was, therefore, led to put together the following workshop:
How stories unite mankind:
A selection of tales from countries across the world
Look at how we all share the same story culture
Identify and discuss the moral for each tale
Relate the identified moral principles to the world today
Examine and discuss our personal values and how they fit in to all the above!
The Workshop is about a sense of belonging to the world. Above all, the day should be seen as an example of education for participation.
