The Polar Bear by Abby from Chichester

The sun was shining brightly over the ice-floes in Eastern Iceland.  A group of explorers were trekking across the ice when, suddenly, a ferocious polar bear leaped out from behind a mound of snow.

It's teeth shining yellow in the sun, it crouched and made ready to spring.

One of the explorers got his gun out and was going to shoot the bear.  The leader of the expedition, Logan, cried:

"No, let's throw a net over it and send it to a zoo in another country!"

Unfortunately the bear snarled and struggled so much its leg was hurt and the only zee which would take it was an Endangered Animals Zoo.

They looked after the bear and it soon recovered.

One day, a few months later, the people from the Endangered Animals Zoo took the bear back to Iceland and let it go.  The bear had learned a lesson.  He was no longer dangerous.
