My Legend

Smargull is on the border of the allied land. To the south Elves, Men and Dwarves. Over the large ravine is the ‘Dark Moor’. Here is where the army of Chaos lives, but where the villages to the south live in peace, only worrying about their crops.

At the beginning of autumn a tide of warriors came through the mist. They had round black helmets that covered their eyes and cheeks; chain mail covered their noses. On their breastplate was a shimmering picture of another warrior slaughtering a village. I say shimmering because it seemed to move. Normally this army would bring up their spiked crossbows, fire them and leave, but this time they had wooden bridges.

The villagers had but one chance, and it was now that they had to trap them on the bridges. They got out their old swords, pitchforks, and knives and charged. The battle raged on. I say battle, but it was a skirmish that went in to a slaughter, as the villagers were not soldiers in any sense. When all hope was lost a group of Rangers (men who are masters of the bow) burnt the bridges with burning arrows and finished off the few Chaos warriors on the wrong side of the ravine, in a whirl of steel.

Strider, the leader of the Rangers, knew that they only had three days before new bridges would be built. Strider sent off the fastest runner for help, as he trained up the villagers.

But, there is no time. The Chaos warriors are putting up the new bridges across the ravine. Now like before, he must try to keep them from crossing. The battle is on. It is an even fight, until the Demons arrive, and entered the fight. Strider has no chance but to pull back and make a last stand!

Suddenly Men, Elves and dwarves (to name but a few) are seen charging over the hill in an unstoppable tide, and they hit the Chaos warriors full on. After a mere few minutes the Chaos warriors have to fall back. If the Chaos warriors survive they will just build a new army. Out of sight Strider and his Rangers together with some villagers, join in the slaughter of the enemy.

In the end Strider kept the southern world safe, and for some time to come the Chaos warriors did not attempt to attack the village.

(Well not yet.)
