The day the Earth was born by Shelby

Earth started off as a large, very hot ball, spinning around space.  Gradually, over time, earth cooled down but was bored because nothing was happening on it.

Earth rather thought it would like some water and some plants on its surface, to make life more interesting.  It didn't know how to do it though.

One day, hurtling through the sky, came the Rainbow Dragon.  Earth told Rainbow Dragon what it wanted and the dragon set to work.

He jumped up and down and cracked the crust.  He built up and enormous spin and drilled holes in the surface.  These cracks filled up with water and made rivers.  The holes filled up with water and made the sea.

The dragon moved away from the water and used his tail to build up a few higher bits of land and some mountains.  Then he sniffed up some of the dry, dry dust to make himself sneeze.  When he sneezed, all sorts of bits and pieces he had stored up during his travels were blown out across the land and sea.  Odd seeds, a few insects and even a couple of fish eggs came out!

This is how Earth became the planet it is now!
