MAKING WORDS WORK

David has been working as a storyteller since 1991. He brings the old tradition alive – that storytellers do it differently every time – in his dynamic and vibrant performance style.

He has worked as a teller with all ages in schools, libraries, prisons, festivals, weddings, environmental events, story walks, teacher inset training, clubs, pubs and theatres. He concentrates on performances for those over the age of 11. Storytelling is NOT just for children!

He has performed at Edinburgh Fringe Festival; worked for English Heritage (to include telling at Stonehenge), Youth Hostel Association, Library Association, Dorset County Council, Residential Education Centres, Arts Centres and theatres. For a number of years he organised The Weymouth & Portland Borough Council’s Storytelling Festival.

David is a member of The Society for Storytelling; of The Writers Guild and of The Association of Writers in Education

Just recently David has taken on the job of Youth Theatre Leader/Animator at Dorchester Youth Theatre.

David also offers Storytelling workshops for would be storytellers and for educators.

‘Packaged’ weekend ‘storywalks and workshops’ are available around Portland (accommodation at local Youth Hostel) and Weymouth (Seafront Hotel accommodation) and around Soussons Plantation on Dartmoor (Bunk Barn accommodation or camping)
